How to Complete a Multi-Agency Referral Form (MARF) for Children Services 

This half day multiagency training/information session has been developed to support practitioners in a variety of roles and setting to increase understanding of safeguarding responsibilities when working with children and families. The session will provide information on how to complete a MARF building an understanding of the purpose of a MARF and increased awareness of information sharing and multiagency collaborative working. The session will include links to the updated CYSUR Threshold and Eligibility Support Document “The Right Help at the Right Time” and will consider themes from practice.

The session is aimed at the sharing of information in relation completing a MARF and will include some individual and group work to allow practitioners to explore themes and develop their understanding, building confidence and competence.

Objectives:

  • Develop a shared understanding of what a MARF is and the key purpose and principles.
  • Consider how and when to complete a MARF, what information is needed and what needs to record and best practice in doing this.
  • Build an understanding of roles and responsibility and links to the Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act, Wales Safeguarding Procedure and the CYSUR Threshold Document. Improve understanding of information sharing, including key principles of collaborative working.
