Dementia Awareness using Virtual Reality

This course has been designed to support and inform carers, social workers and support staff in caring for an adult with Dementia. Using Virtual Reality headsets, the session will explore the person’s experience of Dementia, and its impact, as well as the implication for their care and support needs. There will also be an opportunity to consider and share good practice and reflect on contextual issues for people living in Ceredigion and in Wales.

Objectives:

  • Understand the nature of Dementia and its impact on the person and on their families
  • Understand the experiences of people with Dementia using Virtual Reality
  •  Reflect on how best to provide care and support to individuals, their carer’s and their families
