Ysgol Cei Newydd is a small community school with a big heart, we believe that a happy and homely environment is essential for children to learn, develop and achieve their true potential. We take great pride in our culture of friendship, diversity and acceptance. Located in the centre of New Quay village, just a short walk from the beaches, we make the most of this amazing location to bring education to life. Currently Ysgol Cei Newydd has around 85 pupils and an effective and dedicated team of staff. In accordance with the Welsh Government categorisation of schools, Ysgol Cei Newydd is categorised as Transitional 2 (T2) working towards category 2 dual language school. We are a popular school for families locating to the area as well as New Quay residents. We inspire our children to become bilingual and develop a broad knowledge of the Welsh language and culture.
The Governors wish to appoint an inspirational and dedicated Headteacher to lead the school in the next period of its development. The successful candidate will build upon existing strengths and continue to support our culturally diverse student body. They should be open to new ideas and ensure that the school prepares its pupils for the changing world around them. In addition, we are looking for a Headteacher who can lead the teaching team in the delivery of the Curriculum for Wales and the ALN Bill.
