This position is subject to a market supplement payment of £200 per month. Please note the market supplement payment will be reviewed 31 March 2023.
The Independent Safeguarding Reviewing Officer post offers an exciting opportunity to work in an enthusiastic and committed Quality Assurance Team within the Safeguarding Service here at Ceredigion County Council.
Whilst the Local Authority is developing a Through Age Well-Being Model of social care provision, your role will be to work specifically with children, young people (over the age of 18) and their families to ensure that the care, support and safeguarding interventions are of the highest quality and are meeting the needs of children/young people.
The role of the Independent Safeguarding Reviewing Officer will be to provide an independent statutory reviewing service for children who are being looked after by the Local Authority, young people who are leaving care (ages 18-25) and children who receive short break/respite Support services.
This role will also entail the chairing of Initial and Review Child Protection Conferences and ensuring that robust Child Protection Plans are developed for children who are at risk from or who are experiencing abuse and/or neglect.
The role will also involve the undertaking of Annual Foster/Kinship Carer Reviews and high risk children in need of care and support reviews.
You would be part of a strong, committed multi-agency local and Regional Partnership way of working that strives to achieve together the best quality outcomes for children and young people. The Local Authority is working to implement the Signs of Safety Practice Framework.
