We currently have a vacancy within our Highways Services Team for a Green Infrastructure/Tree Inspection Officer. The post is a permanent contract based at Penrhos Depot, Llandysul.

The post holder will be responsible for the Supervision of the annual verge mowing activity on County and Trunk Roads, and carry out enforcement in relation to vegetation overhanging/encroaching County Roads in accordance with section 154 of the Highways Act (1980). The majority of the work will be carried out remotely across the highway network throughout the county. The role is hybrid meaning the post holder may also work from home or the office as appropriate. The post holder will be responsible for a work vehicle.

On a day-to-day basis you will:

• Supervise work undertaken by external contractors in respect of tree works and verge mowing.
• Carry out enforcement activity in accordance with section 154 of the Highways Act (1980).
• Carry out site visits and inspections.
• Liaise with landowners and other stakeholders as required.
• Respond to enquiries and report as required
• Monitor the performance and workmanship of contractors.

We are looking to recruit an individual who:

• Has a full United Kingdom driving licence.
• Is comfortable working on their own and as part of a team.
• Is enthusiastic and will take ownership and positively contribute to the delivery of the best service to customers.
• Is capable of undertaking site visits and inspections.

The post requires a limited degree of fluency in the Welsh language.
