We are looking to recruit a Training Officer - Revenues and Financial Assessments to join our Finance and Procurement service on a permanent full-time basis.
About the role
The Training Officer’s role is to provide administrative, legislative and system training to new and existing Revenues and Financial Assessment staff and staff from other departments who have an involvement with Financial Assessment or Revenues matters. You will also undertake quality checks on work carried out to ensure accuracy and to promote good practice, high standards and improve performance and customer service.
On a day-to-day basis you will be required to supervise staff who are undertaking training. You will provide expert advice on Revenues and Financial Assessments matters to internal and external stakeholders as requested. You will keep abreast of legislative, regulatory and policy changes that affect the service. Use your knowledge to develop and maintain comprehensive training guidance, desk aids and procedures to support training. Maintain information held on the Council’s website in relation to Revenues and Financial Assessments (Benefits). You will also be required to assist in software testing of Revenues and Financial Assessments systems and deliver any resulting training to staff.
Our ideal candidate
We are looking to recruit an individual who has demonstrable knowledge and understanding of Financial Assessments (Housing Benefit/Council Tax Reduction), Revenues and Customer Service functions together with an excellent working knowledge of the MRI and Civica systems used by the Revenues and Financial Assessment Service.
The successful candidate must have excellent interpersonal, analytical and presentation skills.
