Service Details

The Policy Support Service sits within the portfolio of Cllr Ellen Ap Gwynn, the Leader of the County Council and is accountable to the Strategic Director for Learning and Partnerships Mr Barry Rees.
The Service has two clear functions:
1. Focus on those issues and challenges that need to be tackled jointly by partner organisations to improve the lives of Ceredigion citizens 2. Support corporate policy development & implementation to improve outcomes for the residents of Ceredigion, taking into account:

  • The needs of the county
  • The legislative framework
  • Ceredigion County Council Corporate and Improvement Objectives
  • The National Policy Context
  • Research and good practice
    The work of the service can be sub-divided into the following four objectives:
  1. To coordinate an effective Partnership Framework which delivers the objectives of the Single Integrated Plan
  2. To manage and support specific projects that contribute to citizen wellbeing
  3. To manage and develop specific policy areas to ensure robust and effective implementation
  4. To ensure that Ceredigion County Council is recognised as a ‘fit for purpose’ corporate entity.
