Special Leave

The Council recognises that there are occasions/times when a short period of time off is necessary outside of leave entitlement and will endeavour to support staff in balancing their work and personal circumstances.

The reasons for leave recognised by the Council include:

• Court attendance on behalf of the Council 
• Attendance at Governing Bodies
• Magistrate duties
• Membership of Local Authorities
• Jury Service
• Service in Non-regular Forces
• Emergency and Rescue Services
• Time off for interviews
• Time off for IVF treatment
• To represent the County at sporting, charitable or other events
• Religious & Cultural Observation
