It is essential that all officers spending Council money to acquire goods, works or services comply with the Council’s Contract Procedure Rules. Amongst the important things contained within the Contract Procedure Rules are:

• Officer’s Responsibilities
• Retention of Records
• Framework Agreements

A copy of the Contract Procedure Rules is available on the Policies & Strategies page on the intranet. The Council has Contracts and Frameworks in place for many kinds of goods and services and there is no option but to use these. More information on the Council’s Contracts and Frameworks can be found on the Procurement Pages on the intranet. Some Departments have their own Procurement representatives and there is a Central Procurement Section that can be contacted for further information and advice.
